Yamaha Rhino Injuries

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Safety is a primary concern for all parents. One of my biggest concerns is allowing my children to use an all terrain vehicle that is commonly used by adults and children. They are loved and bring a lot of joy to kids. They can also be dangerous. Even taking safety precautions, helmets and arm and knee pads, can prove to be useless in a vehicle that can turn over and trap a child underneath. At the lowest speed, these vehicles can still overturn.

The Yamaha Rhino is one vehicle that has a history of injuries and death. The defects of the Yamaha Rhino have led to broken arms, broken legs, and serious head injuries. The defects of the Yamaha Rhino are as follows:
• No doors on the passenger compartment
• No handholds inside the passenger compartment
• Narrow wheel base
• Small tires
• High center of gravity
Yamaha blames the drivers for the injuries. They claim that the vehicles were being used inappropriately, yet offered doors and passenger handholds free to owners of the 2004-2007 ATV models. It seems to me, that if they are willing to do this, then they recognize that they are at fault to some degree. For more information about the Yamaha Rhino, you can visit Yamaha Rhino Rollover
