Should A Ford Mustang Be Our Next Vehicle?

Saturday, March 13, 2010

My husband and I were talking last night about cars. It looks like one of our vehicles is about to bite the dust. Currently, we own a Dodge Ram truck and a Toyotal Corolla. The truck is the one that is having a lot of problems. The thing is, it is our comfortable vehicle. It’s the vehicle we use for long distance traveling. Lots of leg room and lots of storage space for our stuff.

Our Corolla is our around town vehicle. It’s having problems, too. We can’t afford to get a new car right now. We just paid off the Corolla and the truck has been paid off for several years. We are starting to get our financial situation in order with one less bill to pay. Our tax money went towards the credit card, and we are hoping to get that paid off this year.

The other thing is, my husband can’t work on a new car. He can work on an older car. One that doesn’t have a computer in it. He would love to have a Ford Mustang. We had talked about getting one as our next vehicle. The problem for me is, I don’t think it would be comfortable riding in one on long distance excursions. I have long legs and need to be able to stretch them out.

Looking ahead, I know of one trip that is already planned that I would prefer to take the truck, if it is still alive. We are planning on driving to the BlogHer conference in New York. Now, I am not so sure. I really don’t want to fly up there. I don’t like flying.

What do you think? Should I give in and let my husband get a used Ford Mustang or insist that he find a used truck or van that we can afford?

Toyota Recalls and Suspends Sales of Vehicles

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Toyota has issued a massive recall of their vehicles due to a safety issue with the gas pedals. They have also announced suspension of production and sales beginning the first week of February. You can read more about it on Gather.

If you are in the market for a new car, you may want to consider buying American. Buy Ford. Specifically, buy the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT.

My husband and I are big fans of the Mustang. It is one of the few cars that I can recognize by sight. I can see one and know that it is a Mustang and it is a Ford. This is a big joke between me and my husband. I know very little about cars. When we are out driving, he will point out how nice a car is and use it’s model name. I usually reply back “which one are you looking at? What color?”

When he refers to a Mustang, I have no problem zeroing in on the car he is referring to. This year, when we sit and watch the Daytona 500, I won’t have to ask him what kind of car the pace car is. I will know by looking at it. It will be the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT.

If you are in need of a bigger vehicle, how about trying the Ford Focus? As you can see from the picture below, there is plenty of leg room. I’m tall, so it’s important that I have a vehicle that I can stretch my long legs in. Otherwise, long trips would become very uncomfortable.

No matter what your needs are, a small sports car, a family car with plenty of room for all of you and all of your baggage, or a tough truck for the outdoors, Ford can meet your needs. No, this isn’t a paid/sponsored post. No, I am not receiving any kind of compensation of any kind for writing this. I would love to know what your favorite Ford is and why. Leave me a comment letting me know.
