On December 2, Tiger Woods apologized to his supporters for his behaviors on his website. His statement also expressed his belief that he and his family have a right to privacy. I agree, he does have a right to privacy. Unfortunately, when you become a celibrity, privacy is a rare commodity. When you choose a career that puts you in the public light, you need to be able to accept this. You should also realize that there may come a time when your transgressions will be opened up to public scrutiny.
Does that mean his family should have to pay the same price. His wife knew what she was getting into when she married a celebrity. His children, had no say in it. In my opinon, Tiger should expect to get the attention that he is receiving, but he has every right to expect his children's privacy should be respected.
In the articles that I have been reading about the growing number of girlfriends that have been made public, they all seem to center around Tiger and his wife. I am relieved that the press is at least leaving his children out of it. At least, they are leaving them out of the articles. I shudder to think what this feeding frenzy is doing to his children emotionally.
The last article I read suggested that there were could be as many as 6 "girlfriends." How many of these women are actually "girlfriends?" Has anyone considered that a few of the ones that are now coming forward are lying or that the press might be making too much out of platonic girl friend relationships? I'm sure that he was intimate with some of them. He practically admits to it in his statement on his website. My point is, don't you think it was time that the press let this go? Even if you think Tiger Woods is getting what he deserves for cheating on his wife, does his children deserve this continued punishment?
