Support An Autism Camp By Voting

I received this email and wanted to show my support by posting it on my blog. They are not asking you for money, just your vote.


I work for a non-profit in Dallas that helps kids with autism
and other delays. We are trying to win a $50,000 grant from Pepsi to fund our summer camp for kids with autism - and to do so, we have to be in the top-10 vote-getters on their site for our division.

A little about our project that the $50,000 would fund:

Camp SMILE! consists of five, 2 week, therapeutic day camps which
incorporate sensory integration, visual strategies, direct social
instruction, and positive behaviorial supports, for 45 children, ages
3-16, with autism. Campers are placed by age, social-language skills,
and functional levels so activities are developmentally appropriate.

Camp is staffed by speech and occupational therapists and special
education teachers who develop individual child goals while
facilitating positive, appropriate peer group interactions. Due to the
intense, individual needs of the campers, the camper/staff ratiois
three to one.

Campers work and play with others, develop strategies for making
friends, learn coping skills, experience making positive choices, and
understand the consequences of behavior. They learn self-calming
techniques, practice creative thinking, and have fun.

Parents get a brief respite from the intensity of parenting a child
with autism.

Could you promote it on your site and encourage everyone to vote every
day in May (and tell their friends)?

Vote For Dancing With The Stars Celebrity Aiden Turner

I had to record Dancing With The Stars last night. My husband is not a fan. I am. I love it. I watched it this morning and was surprised by some of the performances. Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke started off the show nice with a solid 18 out of 30. But my favorite was Aiden Turner & Edyta Sliwinska. Sorry, everyone else on the show, but I love Aiden Turner. Don't tell my husband. Let's keep it our secret.

Since I couldn't watch it last night, I wasn't able to vote until this morning. This was my first time voting. I have watched this show every season, but have not felt the need to vote until this season. It was easy. I voted for Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska, of course. All eleven of my votes went for them. If you have not voted, you can still go online and vote. If you are not registered, go ahead and register. It's easy. You can also keep up with the Dancing With The Stars celebrity tweets on the ABC website. The only one I care about is Aiden's. I am now following him on Twitter. If you don't watch television, you may not be aware of who he is. Let me enlighten you. He was on All My Children. He was great. I really miss him on there. Maybe, with luck, I'll find him on General Hospital soon. I bet he would be fun as a new love interest for Carly. Of course, Jax won't like that.
