Pure Silk Shave Cream Review

Sunday, July 19, 2009

I was sent the Rasberry Mist and Coconut & Flour Pure Silk to try out and give my opinion. What can I say? I have never used shaving cream to shave my legs before. I have always used soap. I was surprised at how much better it is to shave with shaving cream.

The scents that I used (Rasberry Mist and Coconut & Flour) were pleasant. I have problems with products that have strong scents. They tend to kick up my allergies. I was happy that these had a light fragrance and my allergies were not affected. After shaving my legs, I did notice that I didn't need to apply lotion. Pure Silk not only provided a better shaving experience, it also left my legs soft and smooth.

You know I didn't leave it at that. I said that I had never used shaving cream to shave, but I didn't say that I did not use it for anything. Shaving cream is a great therapy tool for children with sensory issues relating to their fingers and it is also great for teaching kids to write.

I put some on a flat surface and tried it out with my son. In the past, I would buy a cheap can of shaving cream to use. The problem with this, is that cheap shaving cream does not hold it's consistency for long. Pure Silk is thick and holds it's consistency while we worked with it. My son hates i when we use shaving cream. His fingers and hands are very sensitive. He doesn't mind using a writing utensil to write in the shaving cream, but he gets upset if I try to get him to use his fingers. All in all, Pure Silk is a great medium for our creative therapy work.

Great idea on using a writing utensil instead of finger. My son doesn't like to use his finger in shaving cream either.
