Made By Me Do It Yourself Review

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

I received the wooden train from this set to review. My daughter was so happy to have this toy to paint. Not too long ago, my son had a wooden race car that he had to paint for Boy Scouts. She was so jealous. Now, she was able to paint this wooden train all by herself.

It’s important to know that these sets do not include any paints, glue, stickers or whatever else you might need to decorate your wooden toy. We still had paint left over from my son’s car and my daughter had no problem painting her train green. It’s not completely done yet, we need to pick up some black paint for the whistle. My six year old daughter easily painted her knew toy all by herself. When it came to assembly, my husband had to do it for her.

It was easy to assemble the train. No glue was needed and the only tool that he used was a hammer. The Made By Me by Maple Landmark – Do It Yourself Kit includes the plain bodies for a train with a smokestack, tugboat, tractor, and a truck plus wheels and axles for each. The assembly instructions are included. Each vehicle is four inches in length and are recommended for three years and up. You can view the Made By Me set and their other toys on their website.

This is really neat. My son has a wooden puzzle like this. It didn't come with paints. But it's something we are going to work on this summer. I think he also had a car I don't remember.
