Max Science Adventures Book Series Review

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I was sent the Max Science Adventure Series to read and review. There are currently four books in this series: Max Goes To The Moon, Max Goes To Mars, Max Goes To Jupiter and Max’s Ice Age Adventure. The Moon, Mars and Jupiter books are written by Jeffrey Bennett, and the Ice Age Adventure is written by Logan Weinman with Jeffrey Bennett.

Logan Weinman is a third grader from Colorado. He wrote and illustrated Max’s Ice Age Adventure, while Jeffrey Bennett wrote the science questions and answers. Max is a dog that has great adventures. I enjoyed reading about him traveling to different planets and into the past.

I also found these books to be educational. While your child is enjoying the story itself, you can sit and help him/her read the boxed text for educational information. These books will teach your child about our Moon, Mars and Jupiter. They give you information about space travel and the possible existence of life on other planets.

Your child will be entertained by the antics of Max, the lead character in the book. My daughter enjoyed reading these books with me. It amazed me what facts she was able to understand and retain. This series of books is recommended for grades K-8. My daughter is almost 7 and needs help reading them. They are available for purchase at Amazon and in bookstores.
