SmartKnit Kids Giveaway Closed

Friday, January 1, 2010

I am happy to report that SmartKnitKIDS has launched a Big Kids line. These will fit older kids and adults. If you are not familiar with Smart Knit socks, they are seemless socks for individuals with sensory needs. I have reviewed SmartKnitKIDS in the past and my kids loved them. My only problem with them is that the sizes they were available in were for young kids.

“New! Now available in larger sizes for SmartKnitBigKIDS, these SmartKnitBigKIDS seamless crew socks are perfect for kids with sensory processing disorder, or for those who just won't wear socks with seams.

The patented form-fitting design of SmartKnitKIDS seamless socks ensures that they fit like a second skin - they won't wrinkle or bunch. The tops of SmartKnitKIDS socks are also elastic band-free, which helps prevent the annoying and sometimes painful indentations on the legs.”

Now I can get them to fit my son. You can get them too, by visiting their website or winning them here.

This giveaway is for three pairs of SmartKnitKIDS Big Kids socks. The winner gets to pick which size (sm, med, or lg) and for a girl or boy. This giveaway runs from January 1 to January 9, 2010 and is for US residents only. Here is how you can enter:

MAIN RULE – Leave a comment telling me who you would give this to(or if you are going to keep it for yourself. (remember if this rule is not followed then no others will count)

I would totally keep these for myself. I buy things for the kids all the time and seems like never for myself. lol

I'll be honest, I'd love to keep them for myself, but I might end up saving them for when my daughter is bigger. ;) Otherwise I'm happy to pass them on to a friend who just had a new baby and probably has enough sensory overload happening right now!

I would most likely give them to my 8 yr old, she always needs socks and these sound pretty neat!

If I won, I would give them to my daughter. She just can not handle wearing socks, at least not without complaining the whole time.

This is great! My son with Asperger's doesn't usually have a problem with socks, but there is only one brand he'll wear. I think it is great that companies are going to tag-less items.

I'd retweet this just because I have followers who might appreciate this.

My son has sensory issues so he would definitely get these socks. It is frustrating for everyone in our house, including him, waiting on him to get his shoes and socks on.

Oh these would be for my Boy. His sensory issues drive me batty!

I bought some socks that had the seams on the outside for my daughter and she loves them. She was always adjusting the seams on her socks because they bothered her. These socks are not only seamless but they a lot more colorful.

My daughter sure could use these, or should I say, I could. I constantly take her shoes off to re-postion her socks. I hate the winter - I wait & wait for summer b/c sandals are so much easier. Thanks for the chance.

I would give them to my 11 yr old daughter. She loves fashion and wants to be a fashion designer. She always loves new and different socks as an accessory for her wierd outfits.

Definately for my son, Maverick! From the git go, it has been a battle over his dislike for seams in his socks!

I have to be honest; these would go to my neurotypical daughter, not to my son with Asperger's. she has tiny feet for a young woman and these would look and feel fabulous on her. Her brother gets so much attention and so many 'extras' - it's her turn.

If I was lucky enough to win, I would give this to my daughter. She is super picky about seams in her socks and tights. In fact, she will sit and scream about "lumps." These would be perfect for her. Thank you so much for the wonderful giveaway!

THOSE SOCKS WOULD BE CERTAINLY FOR ME, THE SEAMS IN THE SOCKS HURT MY TOES A LOT, I AM ON MY FEET A LOT, SO I TURN THEM INSIDE OUT SO THE SEAMS DO NOT HURT ME AS MUCH THEY WOULD BE WONDERFUL FOR ME!

I'm giving them to my pal, Adam, who is an amazing Asperger kid who has a huge problem with seams in his socks. AND you've totally inspired me to bring autism into the spotlight on iTwixie.com. We're highlighting a "cause" a month in 2010 and we'll be shining our light on autism awareness for our January feature!

I'm following you, girlfriend, on Twitter! I am @igirlpower. And you do, indeed, rock.

My daughter was finally officially diagnosed with autism this morning, so of course they would be for her. I really feel for her with her sensory integration issues. It cannot be fun to live in such an abrasive world!

*Mirage* said...

My 1 year old will NOT keep shoes and socks on. But then there's my 3 year old who has sensory issues. Hard to pick which kid should try them but I think I would try them on my son to see if it would get him to keep his socks on.

I would give them to my 8 year old because she hates socks and the seams are the worst.

I would give these to my lovely niece, Caitlin who has AUTISM. She is 9 years old and her mother still has to put her socks on for her because she can't line the seams up and gets very frustrated and upset. Her lack of fine motor skills in this area are what cause her to not be able to line the seams up and I know these socks would give her so much more confidence.

definitely give these to my son depending on the size maybe we will all wear them thanks for the chance to win them-

I would give these to my daughter. She has ADD and I've found that certain clothes get her aggitated, especially seams and tags. It takes a little more effort (clipping tags, searching for seamless socks, the "perfect" pair of shoes) but it actually saves time and trauma. And isn't that worth it? I think so. Thank you so much for introducing me to this product.

I would give them to my uncle who has two autistic boys. I never really thought about it but those seems do get annoying. Socks can be really stressful if it isnt on a kids favorites list. They have a hard time getting the boys dressed amd its a miracle if they all show up as a family to our family get togethers.

My son he has developmental dyspraxia that has sensory issues. Not a lot is known about it in the USA but it has similar characteristic to Aspergers socially.
