What is thunder? It is the sound of Elvis beating up Michael for marrying his daughter.
My husband told me this joke the other day. I thought it was appropriate. We are not fans of Michael Jackson in our household. We don't approve of the way he lived or how he died. We hate the amount of media attention was paid to his death. We also hate the way it cost Los Angeles a ridiculously high amount of money to ensure the necessary police precense was in attendance during the funeral.
Money is a big issue all across the country for all of our towns and cities. Who ends up paying in the end? The people who live in Los Angeles. I can't help but wonder what services will have to be cut because the money is no longer their to fund them. I can't help but think about the families with children with disabilties, especially those with autistic children. What services will be discontinued that are badly needed and were fought hard for to get?
It makes me angry that no one is talking about this. I'm sorry that a life has ended. I realize that the officials in Los Angeles had no choice but to spend the money needed to ensure the safety and protection of their citizens. I just don't think it is fair that it will be at the cost of those that desperately need the most help.

Now the joke, that is funny. The realities, yeah, not so much. I am right there with you.
We are also bracing ourselves for the 'cuts.'
Best wishes
I am so in agreement with you. All the money put into this Michael Jackson funeral could be put to so much eetter use.
I am tired of paying California State taxes when I know the budget cuts will first hit children, schools, and the elderly.
I never thought of it tht way, but you are right...that oney could have funded so mny wonderful things. Good post.
Hi, this is the Mom from my daughters' SAY site! unfortunately, I agree also. Self-inflicted risk that induces death is really a suicide. Let it go, it was a selfish end to a selfish life. Farrah Fawcett died that same time, a woman who bravely fought everything, who committed herself to so many worthy efforts, and where was all the acclaim for her achievements or her soul? Fans may do as they please, that is natural, but really, he is not a holy relic, and and should not be revered like that. I want my children to have a much bigger mind, think way farther beyond these petty things that seem to dog a lot of those who are celebrities ......for being celebrities.
