I have been blogging for less than a year and have learned a lot. I have met some great bloggers that have taught me a lot about how to operate a quality and educational blog. I have been following some funny women that are quick to make fun of themselves and don't take life seriously. I have also been following some blogs that are inspirational and informative.
During my short time of blogging, I have noticed that there are a few bloggers that can't help themselves when it comes to creating drama. I have read how some bloggers will take a sentence from another blog and twist it around to create a big controversy. I liken these blogs to the gossip rags that people see in the checkout line but don't want to buy.
I have also seen a blogger take a screen shot of another blogger's webpage and attach bubble clouds to it that she uses to pick apart the page and insult every section of the blog she has in her headlights. This has been going on for a while. One person works up several others to discredit a good blogger or community. I have to ask myself, why?
The only answer I can come up with for this childish, high school behaviour is that some people have very little going on in their lives that they have to create drama using the internet. The problem with this is that they have forgotten that words have a lot of power. They can make someone feel better or hurt them. It may be easy for some people to attack a person or blog via the internet because it may seem so impersonal. When you take another person's words and use them to attack that person all for the sake of creating drama and increasing traffic to your site, you need to remember that your words affect an actual person.
I realize now that there is a large community of bloggers online. A lot of us are professional and friendly. Unfortunately, as in any community, there are some bad apples. I can't do anything about it. I wish I could. All I can do is say "Grow up."

very true. i try and stay away from it all, and focus on my family and blog.
I agree with you. I know exactly where you are coming from.
At firts, I thought the whole PRBO thing was a fluke, now with the nikonhatesbabies thing, which was supposed to be a joke by the way, and all the vile hatred I have seen come out of that, I am absolutely appalled by the behavior of supposedly grown women.
Those that do this give us ALL a bad name.
Well done Tammy for speaking out about this sort of behaviour. None of us are perfect, but you would think we could all try to conduct ourselves in a grown up manner. I really do not know what is wrong with some people. xx
When I see things like that happened, I also ask "why" do people like to hurt people! I've seen comments of hatred and racism on my articles many times.
Thanks for this great post!
LOL I don't mean to laugh but you are so right! I liked this post it was straight and to the point.
That's what happens when you (not you ... the petulant blogger), don't have the imagination to come up with a good topic to post about. But there are some good corollaries to this:
a) You have evidence that someone is reading your blog!
b) The irksome blog usually doesn't last long. I think most people drop by to read/see something interesting, not some dope blathering on about what he/she read on another blog. And look at the comments here! Clearly, most people understand quality when they see it ;)
You know I keep reading about stuff like this from time to time on people's blogs, but happily I can report I've not been involved or read any of it first hand. Apparently the blogs I visit, or that visit me are above that. YIPPEE. I've beern blogging for several years and can really only report positive, good people.
HS was a long time ago, and your assessment of it is on the mark.

Couldn't have said it better!
Great post!
I have been blogging for nearly eight years. I have never come across anyone who was disrespectful and certainly no one who was racist. I consider myself lucky.
Perhaps, the best thing to do is to boycott their sites.
