It's been about four years since I last looked at computers. I can't believe how much they have changed. Now, you can buy an all in one computer. It has a flat screen with the computer as part of it. No more big tower hard drive. Of course, you can still get the flat screen with a big tower hard drive. The days of the big, bulky monitor are behind us.
I spent a whole day, with my family, going from store to store. We looked at all different sizes of computers and hardrives and all in one computers. The first store we went to was Best Buy. I fell in love with the all in one HP computer. The flat screen was a touch screen and it was big. Not bulky big, just wide screened. The price? Hold onto your socks: $1,000. The rest of the computers at the store did not have a touch screen, so we went on to the next store. Because my son communicates using our touch screen computer at home, we have to have a touch screen monitor.
The next store was Staples. We found a flat screen (half the size as the one at Best Buy) and a separate hard drive tower. Total cost: $600. This was a much better price. We ended up leaving the store without it. Why? Because none of the sales staff acknowledged us. My husband told me later that, if they had come over and asked if we needed help, we would have bought it.
The rest of the day was more of the same. We tried Target, but all though they have a computer department, they didn't actually sell computers. Office Max only had a few computers to look at. We found another Best Buy in a different town. The same computer I drooled at earlier for $ 1000 was $1299 at this one.
At the end of the day, we ended up with nothing. Hopefully, next weekend we will go back to Staples and buy the $600 computer with touch screen and separate hard drive. Will I be happy with it? Yes, but not as happy as the bigger one I saw at Best Buy.

The all in ones look pretty neat. I was going to research them a bit for my friend as she is in the market for a new computer. have a great day.
I have this same nightmare next month when we finally upgrade. I have always been a big Dell fan and find that you can actually get great deals shopping directly from their website. Especially with back to school specials, now is the time to check them out. Last time I was able to get free shipping and a free multi purpose printer/fax/scanner, etc.
Best of Luck.
